My name is Monika
and I have visited my first barcamp in 2007 in Austria. After that I was hooked.
I loved the atmosphere, the participants, the non-existend hierarchy and most of all the outcomes. I met interesting people with whom I am connected until today and I learned so much at each barcamp. I dared to follow a topic though I had no clue about it or wasn’t that interested about in the first place. I asked questions and found people who had the same needs and others who could explain it to us. I got to know newest technologies and trends and I got a lot of job offers through them.
Until today I have participated in over 100 barcamps and organized 10 by myself. Among them the legendary Almcamp which was held in a hut in the middle of the mountains.
I even celebrated my birthday as a barcamp. So I can truely say that barcamps are my passion.
If you have a passion, too, you are the perfect participant for this form of event.
